Artist Statement

The work I am drawn to is oil and encaustic paintings. Encaustic work gives me the pleasure of being able to manipulate wax with a blow torch and oil pigments. Oil painting has always been my passion. Laying out a value scale underpainting to arrive at a finished piece is so amazing.
